Willis Appoints Derrick Easton as Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer & Head of Western Europe, Risk & Analytics

Brokerage firm Willis, a WTW business, has announced the appointment of Derrick Easton as the new Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) and Head of Western Europe for Risk and Analytics. In his expanded role, Easton will report directly to John Merkovsky, Global Head of Risk & Analytics, and Hugo Wegbrans, Head of Risk & Broking Europe.

Easton’s Background and Experience

Easton has been a key figure in Willis’ Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) division, leading the U.S. ART team since he joined the company in 2015. With over 30 years of industry expertise, he has played a vital role in developing innovative risk solutions for businesses. His extensive experience spans risk finance, captive consulting, and reinsurance.

Easton began his career in 1994, where he quickly gained hands-on experience in sales and client service before transitioning to the alternative risk sector. He spent over a decade at Marsh, where he refined his expertise in risk management. Following his tenure at Marsh, Easton joined Aon, where he took on key roles in risk finance, captive consulting, and reinsurance solutions.

New Role and Strategic Focus

In his newly appointed role, Easton will focus on expanding ART globally for Willis while also strengthening the company’s Risk and Analytics delivery in Western Europe. His leadership is expected to drive innovation and enhance Willis’ ability to provide tailored alternative risk solutions to clients.
